About the exhibition

Messing Archaeology is the first in a series of collaborative projects that explore the relationship between visual artist and curator. Through a fluid exchange between two contemporary art practices this exhibition investigates what possibilities arise when the two overlap. The duality of each creative background has developed a relationship that is collaborative and similar, both exploring themes of adornment, cultural histories and the space-specific in projects previously. Designed as a domestic interior, Messing Archaeology explores various themes of reconstruction through excess and lost materials, and how these are reintroduced in new spaces with a new purpose.
